What is Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation?

Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation helps homeless pets find their way to loving homes through rescue and adoption.

How do I volunteer?

If you love dogs, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation seeks dog handlers, dog walkers and dog-venturers (people to take dogs on an adventure for a day). Dog handlers at adoption events must be 14 or older. Dog walkers at the Rescue Care Center must be at least 18. More information can be found here.

If you love cats, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation seeks volunteers for out-of-cage playtime, cage-cleaning and feeding at local PetSmart adoption centers. They also need volunteers at the Rescue Care Center in Falls Church, VA. More information for cat-related volunteering appears here.

Volunteers are also needed for pet transportation. To learn about these opportunities, you may email volunteer@lostdogrescue.org.

For under-18 pet lovers, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation would love help organizing supply or food drives for their pets at your school, community center, or religious organization. You can also make snuffle-mats for dogs or order helpful items from this wishlist.
