My Sister's Place

Sheltering, supporting and empowering victims of domestic abuse and their children.

AREA - D.C.

AGE RANGE - 18 and above

What is My Sister's Place?

Founded more than 40 years ago, My Sister's Place started as a domestic abuse hotline. Since then it has grown to offer emergency shelter through transitional-to-permanent housing. The experienced team of case managers and residential counselors provides clinical counseling, case management, and comprehensive services to empower survivors to recover and thrive. MSP also provides training, case consultation, and advocacy to engage communities to prevent violence and abuse.

How do I volunteer?

MSP offers several ways to be involved. Volunteers can serve as readers, children's group facilitators, shelter volunteers, and more. New volunteers need to fill out a volunteer registration and can then access the volunteer calendar.
