Special Love for Children with Cancer

Provides camps, get-aways, financial assistance and scholarships for D.C. area children with cancer

AREA - D.C.

AGE RANGE - 18 and above

What is Special Love?

Since its inception in 1983, Special Love has provided a strong, nurturing environment for children with cancer and their families through its free camps and getaway weekends, emergency financial assistance, and educational scholarships for young adults who have beaten cancer.

Camp Fantastic, their cornerstone program for 7-17 year-old cancer patients, is considered a protocol within the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Each year, Special Love serves hundreds of children, teens, young adults, and their families.

How do I volunteer?

Volunteers must meet certain criteria to be able to volunteer at Special Love. Volunteers are needed for Camp Fantastic and other camp adventures. Please contact Jan Bresch to indicate your interest.

A wonderful opportunity to provide fun and friendship to cancer patients, survivors, and family members. Note that in-person attendees must provide proof of COVID vaccination and a negative rapid test within 24 hours of attending.
