Nourish Now

An organization that partners with a plethora of local organizations to provide food for underprivileged communities

AREA - Montgomery County, MD

AGE RANGE - All ages

What is Nourish Now?

Nourish Now is an organization that aims to provide food for underprivileged communities while also strengthening the network of food assistance in Montgomery County. This organization partners with local restaurants, grocers, caterers, farms, sporting venues, and more to collect surplus food. This food is then directly donated to children, families, seniors, and veterans in the area. Not only does Nourish Now assist with providing food directly, they also donate meals and other necessary items to local youth groups, shelters, food pantries, and charitable organizations in order to build up a strong network of venues that provide food assistance.

How do I volunteer?

Nourish Now is always looking for volunteers to help out in a variety of ways! Although volunteer opportunities at this organization are open to all ages, Nourish Now requires volunteers under 16 to be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers can help with food recovery by either picking up food donations from Nourish Now's partners or unloading the donations. Volunteers can also help sort through food donations.

Additionally, volunteers can help out on the distribution side of things by packaging meals for dispensation or delivering donations to the community.

Please note that volunteer shifts typically last for 3 hours. Shifts can be either morning or afternoon and are available Monday through Friday.

New volunteers must fill out a volunteer registration form, which you can find here. You can also find the shift request form here.
